Tonally dissonant and narratively disjointed, "Wild Horses" plays like a patchwork quilt of scenes excerpted from a much longer movie, or maybe even a miniseries.. A genuinely creepy Southern Gothic thriller that once again proves that in horror movies, sometimes less is actually more.. The theatrical performances don't come close to matching Duvall's 1997 directing breakthrough The Apostle.. . If the very concept makes you nervous ... you'll have an idea of the film's creepy, scary effectivenes...
